Hello Story Teller!
I’m Baba Lu Olutosin, and I want to thank you for taking the time to delve into our world. My journey as a storyteller and musician is deeply rooted in the rich legacy of my Great Grandmother, a natural "Griottes " although she would not have described herself that way. Using only what God gave her, Granny told stories through praise songs, piano playing, artistic portraits & paintings and she supported her family doing it. I can’t imagine what she would have accomplished if she had been born with arms, hands and fingers. This creative lineage carried on through my Grandmother and my Dad, who shared these treasured stories with me and my siblings providing a vibrant tapestry for our lives.

Stories have a profound impact - they make experiences memorable, they spark our
imagination, and evoke deep emotions. They foster meaningful conversations that
lead to greater understanding and collaboration. Our Ancestors knew this. That’s why
the Griots and Griottes were entrusted with roles such as Political Advisor,
Peacemaker, Historian, Musician, Poet, Praise Singer, and STORYTELLER.
Had it not been for knowledge of my lineage and my eventual realization much later in
life that the Griottes & Griots I had learned about were the very same people that were
my most beloved family. My Great Grandmother was Storyteller, Musician, & Praise
singer instinctively, but without the benefit of traditional cultural instruction and
adornment. I realized that their stories needed to be shared and that telling their stories
would re-establish bonds within our family. Then I realized that EVERYBODY’s story
has this same value to them as mine has to me.
This led to the creation of STORIFI.LIFE, a community where everyone can tell their own story in a compelling way without the regret of saying “I should have said__” after the fact.
We are building that type of community here. Whether you’re ready to share your
